This Portable sewing machine bobbin winder called the SideWinder is manufactured by Wrights and won the 2007 Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) Innovations Showcase Award.
If you are frustrated by your bobbins running out in the middle of a project, then this little jewel is for you!
It will quickly fill bobbins and allow you to leave your machine needle threaded - saving precious time and frustration. It runs on 2 AA batteries (not included) or a power cord/AC adapter which is included. The use of batteries makes this gadget great to carry along to a class.
It measures 3" x 5.25" x 3.5" deep, has a built in handle, and 2 spindles for extra bobbins.
The Sidewinder works with most common bobbins with a round hole in the center. Please note that the SideWinder works with most, but not all, bobbins. The following machines have bobbins that will not fit on the SideWinder:
- Singer Centaur II 412 56 15-45 (green)
- Singer Futura 412 09 75-45 (“new” style)
- Husqvarna Viking sewing/quilting machines that take bobbin
- 412 56 15-45 (green) or
- 412 09 75-45 (“new” style) or
- 412 06 12-45 ("old style")
